Nha Trang
Nha Trang, the capital of Khanh Hoa province, is located on the coast of South China Sea, 50 km north of Cam Ranh Bay. Nha Trang, in addition to its allure as a site of the ancient Cham culture, has one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. Set against a backdrop of mountains, Nha Trang is located on a five-kilometer long crescent-shaped beach of fine, smooth white sand. The beach is sheltered from winds by hills and the temperature never reaches intolerable levels. The port of Calendar Da is on the southern tip of the city; the northern border is marked by the River Cai.
The romantic ambience of this area is enhanced by the delicate perfume of cinnamon that drifts down from Mt. Thien Thai and the incense trees of Van Gia forest. Ornamental plants and coconut trees add to the charm of local houses and French-style beach villas. At night, soft lights of fishing boats bob up and down to the rhythm of the gentle tides.
