Hue Royal Tombs Pictures

The Royal Tombs of the rulers of the Nguyen Dynasty are located along the banks of the Perfume River, south of Hue city. The tombs of size rulers are in the auspicious burial grounds and almost of them were planned and built by the Nguyen emperors during their lifetimes. The designs included hills, valleys, streams, ponds and forests or garden. The emperors bodies were buried somewhere on the highest terrace under the forest, but the diggers of the graves were executed so that nobody could reveal the exact location. This severe measure was taken to protect theft of their treasure and desecration of the royal remains.
